WPI-SKCM² Graduate Student Naveen Mishra Receives Poster Presentation Award at BioSim Talks International Symposium 2026

On March 12, Naveen Mishra, a graduate student at WPI-SKCM², received the Poster Presentation Award at the BioSim Talks International Symposium 2026 held at the Institute of Protein Research, Osaka University.

The award-winning presentation was based on his research investigating liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS), a fundamental mechanism underlying the formation of biomolecular condensates. These condensates play an essential role in organizing intracellular biochemical reactions without requiring membrane boundaries.

“The novelty of this work lies in exploring the internal organization of condensates through topological measures such as entanglement, which may provide insights into how liquid phases transition into disease-related aggregates,” commented Naveen.

“This achievement contributes to sustainability by advancing research on neurodegenerative diseases and helping to reduce long-term healthcare burdens. It also aligns with the mission of WPI-SKCM² to promote interdisciplinary research and address important biological questions by bringing together researchers from diverse fields.”
