Bio

After completing my doctoral research on localization in topological quantum systems, I applied these ideas to knitted materials in my postdoctoral work. Knitted materials interlace concepts of topology, symmetry and chirality and host a variety of emergent properties, from topology-dependent elastic response to memory effects analogous to those found in ferromagnets. I have previously been a US National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and Fulbright Grantee. At SKCM2, I am starting a research group with Prof. Sabetta Matsumoto (Georgia Tech) to study mathematical ways to describe crafted matter and explore novel applications of these materials.
