Bio

Masumi Sugiyama is a postdoctoral researcher working at the intersection of computational mathematics and protein structure. Her research focuses on understanding how biological processes like protein aggregation and allosteric regulation arise through the study of protein structure. To analyze protein structures, she incorporates mathematical tools from Knot Theory into her analysis. Her previous work explored proteins and antibodies related to Alzheimer's disease, and her current work aims to gain a deeper understanding of the allosteric regulation of an enzyme.

研究のここが好き!
I find it exciting that studying the shapes of proteins, which may at first seem insignificant, can reveal insights into the underlying mechanisms of their biological processes and functions.
