Application Process

Step 1

Submit the preliminary screening application to WPI-SKCM2. Specify your preferred mentors in your application (list of potential mentors). Applicants will be screened and interviewed by the WPI-SKCM2 Graduate Education Committee. Upon approval, continue to Step 2.

April Admission Deadline: September 30 in the year preceding desired admission

October Admission Deadline: March 31 in the same year of desired admission

Step 2

Submit a full application to the applicable Hiroshima University department, which is decided by the affiliation of your primary HU mentor.
 ADSE: Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering
 ISL: Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life

・The graduate students in the WPI-SKCM2 are eligible for entrance and full tuition fees exemption and financial support adequate to cover living expenses in Japan.
・Ph.D. students are recommended to conduct research their research at the Higashi-Hiroshima campus of Hiroshima University for two and half years out of three years.
・Ph.D. students can stay and work in foreign research groups; their travel and lodging expenses will be covered by the WPI-SKCM2 for up to 6 months. Students who want to extend their stay at foreign laboratories over 6 months she/he has to secure their lodging expenses during the extended periods by themselves or ask for financial support from their supervisors’ budgets.
