Bio
Ali Haider is a researcher affiliated with the International Institute for Sustainability with Knotted Chiral Meta Matter (WPI-SKCM²), with a research focus in experimental chemistry, biomaterials, and chiroptical characterization. His current work centers on understanding how supramolecular chirality, collagen organization, and tissue architecture evolve in human skin, particularly in relation to skin mechanics, structural remodeling, and aging. By combining advanced spectroscopic and imaging approaches, his research explores how chirality, topology, and hierarchical organization govern the mechanical and functional properties of biological matter. More broadly, he is interested in connecting concepts from knotted chiral meta-matter to complex biological systems, where structure, mechanics, and chirality are tightly intertwined.

What I like about my science
I am particularly drawn to the intellectual challenges posed by the intricate interplay between topology, chirality, and material properties within the domain of Knotted Chiral Meta Matter. Exploring the uncharted territories of experimental material chemistry fuels my passion for uncovering solutions and pushing the boundaries of scientific understanding.
