Bio
Shin Yokoyama’s research focuses on understanding ultrafast spin and electron responses in solids after optical excitation. By combining femtosecond ultrashort laser pulses with spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (Spin-ARPES), his work aims to directly observe photoexcited unoccupied electronic states and spin-polarized electron dynamics with energy, momentum, and spin resolution. Through this approach, he seeks to establish an experimental platform that connects electronic structures with optical responses and spin functionalities. Beyond the study of photoexcited electronic states and optical transition processes, he aims to extend his research toward spin-polarized electron transport across interfaces and spin-selective transport in chiral material systems, bridging optical physics, spintronics, topology, and chiral materials science.
