Bio

Takuma Iwata is a doctoral student at Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Hiroshima University and a JSPS Research Fellow DC2. His research field is condensed matter physics, with a focus on the electronic structures of topological materials and magnets using spin- and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and second-harmonic generation microscopy.

What I like about my science
I am fascinated by how the microscopic behavior of electrons gives rise to the macroscopic properties of materials. In particular, I am interested in how topological materials and magnets reveal rich physics through the interplay between symmetry breaking and electronic structure. Website link
