Summer Camp 2025 for Female Undergraduate Students in Mathematics and Information Science

From September 7 to 9, 2025, the Summer Camp 2025 for Female Undergraduate Students in Mathematics and Information Science was held at the University Seminar House in Hachioji. The event was jointly organized by several institutions, including WPI-SKCM². Associate Professor Yuka Kotorii, Principal Investigator of WPI-SKCM² at Hiroshima University, participated as a member of the organizing committee.

The summer camp was designed to provide female undergraduate students studying mathematics and information science with opportunities to connect beyond the boundaries of their universities and explore future career paths. Through interactions with graduate student mentors, researchers, and industry professionals, participants were exposed to diverse perspectives and career options.

Throughout the three-day program, participants attended career talks, research poster presentations, group workshops, and mentoring sessions, gaining valuable opportunities to reflect on their research interests and future careers. Post-event surveys indicated a high level of satisfaction among participants, with many reporting increased motivation to pursue graduate studies and research.

Through initiatives such as this, WPI-SKCM² remains committed to supporting the development of the next generation of talent and fostering vibrant communities in the fields of mathematics and information science.
