Chihiro Sasaki’s research topics are chiral dynamics of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) matter in free space and in a medium, and their critical behaviors. She explores the unknown domain of the QCD phase diagram under extreme conditions at which QCD phase transitions emerge. Based on chiral effective field theories and phenomenological models, Sasaki aims to characterize the dynamics of fundamental (quarks and gluons) and composite (hadrons) degrees of freedom in a hot/dense medium.
