Bio

I work on hyperbolic 3-manifolds. The complements of many knots and links can be regarded as hyperbolic 3-manifolds, and their topological properties such as symmetries are deduced from the hyperbolic structures. I have mainly researched using surfaces in 3-manifolds. Moreover, I am investigating mathematical characterization of textile structures such as weaves and knits.

What I like about my science
I like that it begins with specific visible objects and induces intricate structures.
