Bio

Tran Ngoc Phan is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the International Institute for Sustainability with Knotted Chiral Meta Matter (WPI-SKCM2) at Hiroshima University. She earned her Master's and Ph.D. degrees in Advanced Fibro Science from the Kyoto Institute of Technology. With over six years of experience in biopolymer science, she specializes in the synthesis and structural characterization of natural materials, particularly nanocellulose, silk fibroin, and chitosan in various forms such as films, hydrogels, and aerogels. She is currently developing innovative topological meta-materials by integrating supramolecular architectures into functional biopolymer networks, aiming to translate micro-scale invisible knots into macro-scale structural flexibility.
