Yuya KODAVisiting Professor
Low-dimensional topology, geometry of 3-manifolds, knot theory, singularity theory, and mathematical physics. My research focuses on topological and geometric structures of 3-manifolds, knots and links, together with topological phenomena in liquid crystals and other physical systems, including topological defects, skyrmions, and hopfions.

Bio
Yuya Koda specializes in low-dimensional topology, with research interests in 3-manifolds, knots and links, and spatial graphs. Using methods from geometric topology and singularity theory, he studies invariants, topological structures, and symmetries associated with these objects. More recently, he has extended his research toward mathematical physics, investigating topological phenomena in physical systems such as liquid crystals, including topological defects, skyrmions, and hopfions. Through the interplay of topology and singularity theory, he seeks to uncover mathematical structures underlying physical phenomena and to deepen interactions between pure mathematics and the physical sciences.
