Dominique Luneau (University Claude Bernard Lyon 1): Memories in coordination chemistry of nitroxide radicals

Hybrid, VBL 204 & Zoom

Coordination chemistry of nitronyl nitroxide free radicals has played a major role in the development of molecular-based magnetic materials [1-2]. Even today, the metal-nitroxide bond remains a singular source of very diverse and original magnetic systems based on hetero-spin frameworks.[3] During this seminar, we illustrate our research in the field we three type of bistable metal-radical systems from. This comprises molecular entities with Cu(II)-radical bonds giving rise to a molecular spin transition[3] and 2D coordination polymers with Mn(II)-radical bonds exhibiting either ferrimagnet or valence tautomerism behavior.[5]. Prospective in the field will be discuss.
