Kazuki Ohishi (Comprehensive Research Organization for Science and Society): Chiral Magnets Studied by Small-Angle Neutron Scattering and Muon Spin Rotation
Scientific Bio: https://researchmap.jp/k_ohishi
It is known that a violation of space-inversion symmetry entails a Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction originating from the spin-orbit interaction, which stabilizes a chiral helimagnetic spin alignment. The chiral helimagnetic structures, forming only one-handed screw magnetic structures, have attracted attention because of the emergence of unique topological magnetic textures such as magnetic skyrmion lattices and chiral magnetic soliton lattices. To study such chiral magnets, we have performed neutron scattering and muon spin rotation measurements. In the seminar, I will talk about introduction to J-PARC, which provides neutron and muon beams. Then, I will show our recent results on chiral magnets, i.e., “new magnetic intermediate state in MnSi”, “chiral soliton lattice in TTa3S6”, and “pressure effect on CrNb3S6”.
