Pok Man Lo (U Wroclaw) The physics of many-body QCD

Hybrid, VBL 204 & Zoom

QCD, our theory of strong interaction, entails many fascinating phenomena emerging from the many-body dynamics of quarks, gluons, and the non-trivial vacuum.  This talk focuses on two peculiar features of QCD: confinement and the spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry. We review theoretical efforts, ranging from effective models to Lattice QCD, in understanding these phenomena.  Valuable insights are gathered from boiling the vacuum via heavy ion collisions. Furthermore, we explore the modeling of matter at high baryon densities, representing the most challenging region of the QCD phase diagram.
