~Diverse Perspectives of Women in Science To Support the Next Generation~
次世代を支える女性科学者の多様な視点

Join us on February 27, 2024, at the Hiroshima University Central Library, Library Hall for the Symposium to Promote Gender Balance and Diversity in Science (科学におけるジェンダーバランスと多様性の促進), hosted by SKCM2 and HIRAKU Global, in celebration of International Women’s Day. The Symposium will be dedicated to learning about initiatives to foster diversity in science and empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers in science.

This inspiring event features renowned keynote speaker, Professor Helen Gleeson (University of Leeds), who will share her insights on opening doors for women and those with non-traditional backgrounds, having herself overcome many barriers along her academic path.  Other speakers will discuss initiatives and opportunities for promoting diversity in science.

In the afternoon, a diversity of esteemed scientists will highlight their work and discuss their career trajectories, which hopes to provide practical insights and inspiration to all those navigating their careers in science, especially for women and underrepresented groups.

The symposium will include a lunch with mixer, offering an excellent opportunity for attendees to connect with peers, mentors, and leaders in the field over food and beverages.

Don’t miss this empowering event to gain new perspectives, connect with inspiring individuals, and take a significant step towards a fulfilling career in science. This event is open and welcome to everyone.
