Molecular Chirality Award Presented to Prof. Takeharu Haino of WPI-SKCM2

We are pleased to announce the outstanding achievement of Professor Takeharu Haino, Principal Investigator at Hiroshima University’s International Institute for Sustainability with Knotted Chiral Meta Matter (WPI-SKCM²) and Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Hiroshima University, who was recently honored with the Molecular Chirality Award on May 16.

This award recognizes Haino’s continuous dedication and exceptional contributions to the field of chirality, further cementing his status as a leading figure in the discipline.

The Molecular Chirality Award is presented annually by the Molecular Chirality Research Organization (MCRO), a Japanese body committed to advancing innovative chiral materials, devices, and technologies through interdisciplinary research collaboration among Chiba University and both domestic and international institutions. Recipients are distinguished scientists who have made significant contributions to the field of molecular chirality. The award is symbolized by a bronze statue titled “Hand in Art” and was presented during the Symposium on Molecular Chirality held in Japan.

Under the research theme, “Design and Synthesis of Helical Supramolecular Complexes and Development of Chirality Induction and Amplification by Chiral Guest Complexation,” Haino was invited to the award ceremony held at Nagoya University on May 16, where he was formally presented with the Molecular Chirality Award.

This recognition reflects Haino’s long-standing dedication to advancing research in molecular chirality. His work continues to contribute to the development of the field and serves as an inspiration for colleagues and young researchers alike. We warmly congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.
